How to Prepare for your Massage
Your appointment is scheduled. Now what? Before you head out the door for your treatment, here are a few recommendations:
STAY HYDRATED
Drinking plenty of water helps prepare your muscles for a succesful massage session.
AVOID SUNBURN
While mild burns can be safely massaged, we will need to reschedule your appointment if you have a deep or peeling sunburn.
MINDFUL FOOD & DRINK
Eating too much prior to your service can leave you feeling uncomfortable on the table. We also recommend avoiding or limiting alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
CONSIDER YOUR GOALS
Your massage therapist is happy to tailor your appointment to meet your specific goals. Consider if you would like relaxation, pain relief, or both! If this your first massage with us, we will review your medical history and treatment preferences in advance.
After Your Massage
You’ve just enjoyed a relaxing and pain relieving massage, but a few extra steps can help you avoid soreness and maximize the benefits of your appointment.
GET UP SLOWLY
It is normal to feel slightly dizzy upon standing following your massage. To prevent this, we encourage you to sit up from the bed slowly.
DRINK MORE WATER
Massages are known to dehydrate you, due to the flow of fluids to the kidneys. It is vital that you continue to drink plenty of water following your service. Your massage therapist will provide you with a bottle as you checkout.
BOOK YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT
The benefits of massage therapy are expounded with regular sessions. Following your appointment, your massage therapist will provide custom recommendations based on your specific goals. These may include the frequency of sessions, type of massage, or the addition of specialized upgrades like lymphatic drainage or cupping.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If your appointment is canceled in less than 24 hours, 50% of your service will be charged. This is to ensure our technician’s time is respected. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please do so through the reschedule button at the bottom of your confirmation email at least 48 hours in advance. Thank you!
